I need a new phone......any suggestions?

You may find this link useful. Some good reviews too.

I used to have a k800i which had a cracking camera, quite simple to use. I have a HTC TYTn II now, camera isn't much cop but wifi, bluetooth, gps, MS direct push more than makes up for it.:D

Good luck in your search.

Forget the new Samsung U900 soul .... It's pants ... :D

I've missed loads of calls because the volume is so low (even set to max) ... Seems to be a common problem.

There seem to be three forerunners at the moment as far as decent camera phones go.

The Sony Ericsson K850i - I have one of these as my second phone.
The Nokia N82
The Nokia N95

But the SE K850i is my favourite it has the usual SE ease of use, it makes a great walkman and has a 5mp Sony cybershot built in with almost camera like functionality.

I would suggest nipping to one of the phone shops and seeing for yourself to be honest.

Nokia N73 is pants too. Symbian software and keeps freezing. Give it a miss.

I also need to change my phone I have a Sony K800i, does anyone know if the Sony P1i is any good?

xda series - good phone, poor camera.

I want Canon to produce an Ixus with a basic phone built in...

I use mine with a bluetooth GPS for satnav and the built in keyboard makes emailing a breeze.

Oooh sorry you want a decent cam? I would not recommend the iPhone, its pants.

Yeah I have an iPhone too, love it. Such a brilliantly designed piece of kit.

But yeah if you're looking for a phone with a good camera then stay away from it as the camera is, as EdinburghGary said, pants.

I've had a P1i for 9 months and it's the first phone I've had where I'm not bothered about upgrading after a couple of months. It does everything I need it to and more and does it well. Only thing is I broke the touch screen mountain biking on saturday.

K850i as a few others have said, the best (debatable) out there. The camera on the K850, N95 and the samsungs are pretty much the same quality wise (unless you talk to a fanboy) so any of them would suit you.

I have a K800i, fantastic as a phone, good as a camera (considering its fixed focal length, built in flash and 3mp, its perfect for party/restaurant/night out pics).

Sony are bringing out a new range of phones for june, so I'm hoping my upgrade comes around at about that time.

i use a nokia N95 aswell, awesome phone with lots of functions and a reallly nice camera.

I'm using a blackberry pearl smart phone, free upgrade, T Mob and orange I think.

Tiny stylish and slick type finish, qwerty keyboard, loads applications, full media player, business direct email option, full web, sat nav built in GPS, 2meg cam ..every conceivable connection type, direct PC syn is rapid and accurate.

First one for me .. It does all things very well, no complications of confusions.
The main thing I like is it has loads of useful and 'smart' options at any level of inquiry ...so there's always a way to do everything and anything very easily.

I can run three or four apps at the same time be on the phone with a call waiting, whist writing a booking into it and not get totally lost. :woot:

There is not a device in the imagination of the wildest scientist that would enable me to do that.... or want to. ;)

any time, it's all part of my new public service posting slant. ;)

Or perhaps it's more beer induced.

n95 or lg viewty, the cameras are pretty good on both at 5mp, but for pure functionality its gotta be the n95.

Thanks everyone!
I read a review about the K850i which suggested there were a few problems with the controls and that it was better to stick with the K800i, however, those of you advocating the K850i are making me think it might be worth going for this one. I am going to have a look at it and the N95 this weekend (though having something prefixed with an N gives me the shudders, being a C girl)!!

Thanks again for your help :)

I have one of those. Superb built-in camera but you're right about the software. It freezes up more often than Windows 95! God, sometimes it becomes as responsive as a three-legged tortoise suffering from arthritis.
But, having said that, I still think it's 3.2 mp camera is amazingly brilliant for a mobile phone!
