I missed a great shot!!.

I spotted a fully grown roe deer grazing in the field next to me, I was able to creep up close behind the cover of some hawthorn bushes, the wind was in my favour so he could not trace my scent. I was just about to press the shutter when he spotted me and ran for safety it would have been a great shot but an even better one had I captured him as he was leaping 4-5 ft in the air when he escaped my camera.
That is the closest I have been to a wild deer, I just got that little bit too close with my 70-300.

I feel your pain!

Missed a good shot of Squirrel perfectly posed on a log, had him focused, was steading myself (1/60 @300mm hand held lol) hit the button and he'd ran down the log! Got the shot i entended but with him facing the wrong direction and just oof grrrr
