Had to send it off for repairs as my warranty was running out and I had auto focus issues, I actually miss it like it's a family member :(

What's going on with you guys? How was your weekend?

Car's dead, worked late last night at one of the worst gigs ever, and I'm working every night this week. But at least I go on leave on Friday!

What kind of work was it? Were you taking the photos? How long are you on leave for? I start my new job soon, i'm really excited :)

I've been well thanks, recovered from a horrible cold and now i'm ready to go out there and take photos only problem is that I don't have my camera :(
 
It was a dixieland jazz band job (I'm the drummer). It's one of many groups that all fall under my band (The Light Cavalry Band).

mine is away for warrenty as well and i really miss mine as recently i have seen a lot of good photos but no way to take the pic! typical
 
Nothing new from me really Salma, buy time of year for us musicians, by the time I've finished work I'm normally too shagged to do anything!
 
I know what its like to be without a camera :( I could lend you a Canon Powershot G1 if you wanted? Its not 'all mod cons' but it has manual settings to keep the creative instinct alive. ;)

Oh same here, i'm annoyed about the fact that I have a photography course due in soon and i've had to get it repaired during that period. :(

Well here's a name from the distant past. You actually got mentioned not too long ago amongst a few people who hadn't been heard of for a while. I thought you might be in jail. :D
 
You mention focusing issues on the 450D...was that when it just never seemed to have the focus spot on and the images were out of focus? Thats how mine was when I had one for a bit...gave up and thought that was typical Canon quality :lol:
 
No, it was the auto focus points, they vanished because I cleaned the sensor like a loser :lol:
 
That sounds unusual. As I thought the AF points are on the mirror/'thingy'! :lol: Still, good they're repairing it. ;)
 
I see :D :lol: Fingers crossed they repair it for free, I know how they can be a stickler for this type of thing. ;)

Not a lot. Somebody asked "What happened to that loser?" and somebody said xSitara or ??? ??? ??? (a few mod's names) :p

Sorry to say that if you bu99ered the camera by cleaning the mirror or (more likely) the focussing screen, it will NOT be a warranty job but a chargeable repair.

Shame you're not on the dark side - I could have loaned you a film body to play with until yours gets back, as long as you promised not to clean it!!!

Oh they've already said they're repairing it as it's under warranty :D

I thought you were a committed tog, you should be willing to sell a family member for the cameras safe return!

I was going to do that but Canon said they require a stamp on the warranty from the retailer so I went to ask currys and they said we'll deal with it.

I'm sure it'll be back soon, i've checked out hire prices, they're insane! Could add some more cash and buy a new camera with that.

Aw thankyou foggy, I haven't really taken any macro shots to be quite honest, i'm obsessing over portraits and studio work at the moment, but i'm getting a Canon MP-E 65mm Macro Lens and I can't wait to take shots with that, so hopefully soon :)

I like that plan, seriously having no camera sucks, maybe someone has an old skool spare they'd lend you (I'm a one body kinda guy sorry)

It really does suck, I dunno how i've survived 31days without it, there is no point now, I went to currys yesterday and a lady over there said to me that if they don't hear from Canon within the next 3 days i'll get a free replacement.

I rang Canon but they required a few details which I didn't have, like store number and stuff :/

Lol you guys are too kind, i'll have a camera by Friday I guess. :love:
