I met my hero & the picture is bad, please help!

I met my hero today, and the photo is bad, we only met him for about 5 minutes, so i could only get 2 photos done with him, and both are bad, this one is less bad, but still very over exposed, is there anyone out there who could help me?

Hey... try converting it to B&W and pulling the exposure down 2 steps.
 
The problem, as I am sure you're aware, is that there is not a lot to go on as one of the subjects is rather blown out and over exposed. I have done a quick 5 minute job though which I think is an improvement.

If you post a picture of yourself in a similar pose we can merge the two pictures together and replace the over exposed one :)

It might be worth adding a link to the second picture too as elements from each could be merged. I will have a look again tomorrow when I have more time :)
 
It's worth noting that your camera was set to +2 EC for this shot. It's no wonder it's overexposed. I hope you've reset the camera back to 0 EC as a default.

I did have a go at improving the photo in Lightroom but as this is a JPEG file all detail has completely vanished from your face. I think someone with Photoshop and the skills to use it well could probably do something to paint in a better skin tone but salvation is beyond my capabilities, I'm afraid.
 
That mono conversion is spot on I think.

Yeah, I'm curious as to who he is. I was going to say a young Steve Coogan with wacky hair from the first photo but I suspect it isn't.
 
Adjusted the exposure and added an unsharp mask in Photoshop and I came up with this :D

he's an amazing musician, he can play a lot of instruments, thats why my hair is such a mess haha, cause we met him randomly when we pulled up next to him in the car after the show.

:lol: takes me back to my 80s days, of course the hair remained intact all night back then due to the obligatory use of 3/4 of a tin of Morrison's Own hair lacquer, which often resulted in the most impressive of Ace Ventura-esque hairdos :D

Sounds like you had a top night and congrats on meeting your hero :thumbs:
