Yes
I love my EF-S 10-22. It's as sharp as a sharp thing freshly sharpened.
Just moved from 1.6x to 1.3x but very reluctant to let it go.

So, the 'mod' to FF is now done - quick (15 seconds) and simple (though some constraints) - works like a charm.

So.... my question - anyone know a Canon spare parts outlet in the UK where I can get a "back cover assembly" (rear baffle) for a an EF24-85 lens - Canon Part No CY1-2759-000. Just to finish things off neatly. :)

Thanks,
Mike

Haven't a clue unfortunately...but I'd be very interested to see how it was done! :)

Hi purpleclouds - here you go!
But don't use the pocket knife approach - just zoom to 22mm, which makes plenty of space to insert a finger-end and pop off the back cover.

Cheers for that link...so what camera are you going to be using it on? By my quick skimming through...it seems it is fine except for at it's widest setting (10mm)?

Pretty neat mod...good for a cheap alternative to a designed for lens! :)

That's right - just keep the zoom at 10.5mm or more or the mirror will likely snag. Since I'm the only one using this lens, I'm happy with that restriction.

On a 1D3.

Yeah ... I considered the Sigma 12-24 as a viable UWA option but I prefer to keep my 10-22. (Er, 10.5-22)!

Cheers,
Mike

Just for info, here is a pic - the plastic ring (on the right) pops out and is replaced with a shallower ring (shown mounted on the lens).
