Well, I joined up to another forum a few weeks back for some reason I cant recall. After a while I posted up a 'best of' thread if all my greatest motorsport images. Today I recieved a message from one of the photographers on there saying he wants me to join his motorsport photography agency!!!!!!! I am so exicted. I cant wait to find out the full details!! His name is Jake Yorath and his site isnt up yet. I cant wiat to receive the full detials etc!!!!!!!

I really am :D:D I cant beleive in a year I ahve gone from total noob who just liked the idea of taking pictures to a photographer with a DSLR, shooting for two motorsport clubs, having had to pictures published and now this!!

Well being an old cynic, I wouldn't start planning to make a large income just yet!

Have you done a google search of Jake Yorath as all I can find is a 19 year old student who likes photographing motorsport and wants some help getting into the business.

I wish you a lot of luck and hope it pans (pun) out for you, but I would not get your hopes up too high! sorry to be negative but just don't want you getting too carried away!

I have no idea how these "agencies" work, but if he wants you to sign a contract or agreement
it might just be worth getting it looked at certainly by an adult or maybe even a legal bod. I'm sure everything will be fine and
I'm not trying to put a damper on this at all Matt,
its just after all your hard work I'd hate to see you get ripped off or stitched up :)

Ditto, don't sign anything without putting it in front of someone with a legal background, :rules: you wouldn't want to take the picture of a lifetime to find out the contract you signed when you were 17 meant it belonged to the agency so they end up on a nice Yacht watching the Monaco GP while you're in the rain at Oulton Park :bonk:

That's the Jake Yorath I thought it would be, he's been about on Flickr etc for a while. It's worth a punt, Matt, just don't do or sign anything without taking advice. We don't want to have to send the boys round to see Mr Y :bat: :lol:

:agree: At the moment you can argue that you are not 18 and can't sign a contract without your parents' consent. That'll give you the chance to read what the agency is going to do for you and what you have to do for the agency. I have googled Jake Yorath and he does do motorsport.

Well done, you deserve it - so proceed with caution. You've done the work now get the rewards. Nobody ever got rich by going too slowly; lots of people got poor by going too fast.
