I have never been so outraged

West Country Farmhouse Cheddar, yes. But cheddar can come from anywhere. Blame the EU. (For once , it's actually their fault.)

Are you trying to fuel my outrage. I only buy British Cheddar. Cheddar is British cheese and should come from Britain. Parmesan is Italian cheese and should come from Italy. Accepting lesser cheeses from lesser places is an outrage!!!!

It would appear so and they are named after a town in the west country. Foody area, not far is Cheddar Gorge.

Errr, no, they're not.

Cheddar Gordge is there, and Cheddar cheese presumably comes from there, and Cheddar cheese is a key ingredient in a sandwich...[/QUOTE]

Errr...no, it's not.
It might be you you...but that doesn't make it a "key ingredient" to any other sandwich.

Perish the thought.

The EU has granted a PDO to West Country Farm Cheddar (so it has to be made within rolling distance of Cheddar Gorge or something) but not to cheddar. Even Waitrose sell foreign cheddar and there's nothing anybody can do about it!!!!

If you're going to carry on making cheese puns, tread caerphilly

Irish and Canadian Cheddar is quite acceptable BUT (living around 20 minutes drive from Cheddar and regularly nipping in to buy supplies) I can say the range of Extra Extra Mature Cheddar Cheeses can be truly fantastic.

A great place for some photography off the tourist trail.

Don't know why everyone's harpin on about Cheddar cheese when it's flippin obvious to anyone with a brain that Lancashire cheese is the best there is (the crumbly stuff not the creamy), end of discussion.
You can all go be outraged elsewhere now :);)

Such a post is clearly the most outrageous thing ever. Lancashire is home of the hotpot....

Cheese - French. Proper end of discussion.

Steve.

These cheese puns are beginning to grate now. You'd have to be crackers to post anymore.

Most quiz questions that start "who lost the battle of....."
I wont stand for these stereotypical assaults on the french. I'll have you know they are world leaders in some areas. Their white flag factory is one of the largest in the world for instance.

Are you suggesting they are the original 'Surrender Monkeys'?

And their yellow military uniforms are particularly fetching!

*I am outraged! No really I am!
I have been hard at work all day, and I get back to read this. By post 4 I had a cunning plan plays on words re Sandwich and Ham, those well know Kentish centres of civilisations. And what do I find? Someone's beaten me to it!
I warn you now I have donned my angry trousers, and will continue to wear them while Cinquing Ports! It''s a Run Deal!

More like fill my bladder and put on the dancing shoes
