Actually I was given two :) I was also given a huge mecablitz flash which apparently was used with one of the cameras.

Does anyone know anything about these cameras? I know that they were in working order when they were given to me but I haven't used them at all as the 120 film is hard to purchase

Once I find the part of my brain which shows me how I can add pictures on here I can post some if anyone would like to see what these cameras look like and shed some light on them ?

I have not got the foggiest and am a modern girl but in the name of photography and retro :thumbs:
 
I seem to remember having something to do with an Ilford Sporti 4, not sure if it was mine or I just borrowed it.

The Mecablitz flash guns were the dogs bits, they had a great SCA system which interfaced with various (film) cameras TTL systems. Unfortunately, I think the voltage was too high for modern digital cameras

Hi John thanks for the link, I love the images on there and it might tempt me into trying one of them out if I get the films - the flash I am none the wiser with and I cant even see how it can be turned on its a mine field to me.
 
Here you are John I cant see a number on the flash but this gives you some idea what it looks like
 
Crikey, that is an old one.

I'm assuming the box part contains a battery - probably well passed its best.

Maybe someone else can help - there are a lot of old codgers on here, some of them recall using flash powder :lol: .

Hahaha well I have no idea and I am none the wiser with the huge flash - I am too new to call anyone an old codger but yes if any old codgers know anything it will help - I don't even intend to use the flash as I wouldn't know how by the sounds of it ! bin it sell it ?

Haven't made up my mind yet, but I may be taking one of these for general tourist snaps in London on Sunday. If I do I'll post on here some results. There is a Manual available in pdf on-line

They come in a nice brown leather case apparently.
 
Look forward to seeing any pictures you take then - and yes one came with a brown leather case :-)
