I have an app which tells me when the ISS will be visibly passing by here.

Tonight it was 20.13 & 21.49 for 6 & 4 minutes respectively.

Both times I was outside with the binoculars, and both times got a cracking look.

She just went by on first pass. ..and low in the sky as she passed was a meteor which was SO bright and fast....could actually hear a fizz.

I've got the ISS Tracker app on Android (not sure if it's available for the iphone) It's really good and has allowed me to get the following photos of the space station.

ISS Detector Pro is a good one
it gives you timings of ISS,other satellites and planets/space objects
and also the angle and path of the 'thing'
also a live map of its path

i found it to be very accurate so far but no photos yet

And with it being on your phone you can use it where ever you are
you can even set an alarm for when its coming over
