Hey guys,

I did not know where to post this and I thought this was the most appropriate section. If not, then you can shift it.

Basically, I want to start a portfolio of all my photographs so I can show it to newspapers or colleges or for internships or whatever.

Where should I start? I was thinking along the lines of Flickr or something? Or my own blog?

Do post all your suggestions and ideas here...

Nope, you will need a hard copy and that means a proper professional portfolio (or as close as you can get to it) Google photographic portfolio. Electronic is fine for photo sharing but not nearly what is expected for your targets.
 
I just want someplace to showcase my photos. What is the best place for that?
 
There are plenty of free resources for photo sharing online flickr, picasa, facebook etc etc... If you want a blog look at wordpress, its free and simple to use. Or, buy your own domain name and host your own website...

There are literally hundreds of options if you look around.
 
Well flickr is fine if you want to showcase your photos online.
Sign up for a pro account and your uploads will not be limited.
I create sets and collections to keep things tidy.
 
I'd use a wordpress blog and get your own domain. The professional looks will be well worth the money you spend on it

I want to show to online sites and all... I do have hard copies also. At the moment, I am just looking to show to some colleges and nothing more... So Flickr or Pbase? I gotta choose one... Or wordpress?

Why not all of them?

I don't use pbase, but I do use flickr and wordpress.

Wordpress hosted on my own domain/webspace, and a flickr Pro account. I could link the two, but I tend to use flickr more as a dumping ground for photos, rather than an actual photo sharing site.

No harm in having both, or more!

Yeah true both is better but unless someone can help me setup a wordpress site then I won't be able to do that.
