My very kind and wonderful Secret Santa got me a Jessops voucher for chrimbo, and its burning a hole in my purse :D

Id like to put it towards a filter, but which would be best? I do mostly people shots if that helps.

Is there such a filter that protects the glass more than anything? Incase I scrape something down it? :D
 
Polar Filter. Helps keep unwanted shimmers and reflections down . As well as brining out blues etc in the sky and sea :) And protects!

I think 1D MK III and a 400 5.6L with that :p

What he said. I bought one for £ 8 from a local camera shop and it's the best thing I ever bought...even though I haven't used it yet. It's just nice to know it's there if I need it :)

I can confirm that these are the premier dog-teasing implement..unless you have a 100LB Pyrenean Mountain Dog like mine...it tends to make them a little giddy :bonk:

Get the best shot you've ever taken and get it printed and if enough get a frame too ;)
