:'(:baby:

Know any sites Ram? And View, I cant afford to go hong kong, saying that iv never been abroad. Soo.. lol

get a new job dude...work to live! dont live to work.....get some pennies and get those lenses!
totally understand your viewpoint though...hope your situation improves!

Well I work in topshop/topman, great pay and its the first job I actually really would rather be there than anywhere else. I`m gonna look for a second one though, I`m sick of struggling personally. I`m glad you can relate though.

mate, i have 2 young boys and i work every weekend...so really can relate to something not being right in the world! however, im trying to get a change in my contract so i can see my family at least once a month (wow!) during the day instead of after school etc...
the downside is that its a very cool job...

Wow once a month, I dont know how you do it, If I had a son Id try n see him like most of the time lol, Hard life I guess we live in at the moment, I really dont know where to go at the moment, I want a career In photography, But I dont know where to start, Although im going for education classes at night to help me ^_^

depends on what area...i started out as a printer in a pro lab for 7 years, went freelance carrying bags n making tea/coffee...learnt shed loads though...moved up to a second shooter at weddings, then main, did that for 4 years now a studio based portrait tog..money is good, clients are good, team is good, everything is good apart from i dont see anyone!!!! lol no family bbqs, parties etc...BUT means to an end and i have a plan...this isnt forever and if it gets me to where i want to be, then bring it on!
sort out what you enjoy..if its portraits/weddings, find some togs and start being a groupie....listen & watch..may take a while but its a journey you're on...enjoy the ride and dont want for the destination to arrive too soon...

Well Life is what you make it I guess, You think I should look in a direction which has like anything to do with photography, even printer inks lol

As WCG says starting off is difficult but the more you put in earlier on the more you get out later in life...

I've had to start a couple of times, started in IT worked up to a decent grade and decent pay and got bored of the redundancies that were being thrown around a couple of years. I changed to the motor industry a couple of years ago and working my way up. Pay is now good although hours not where I want them to be but give it a few years and I should have the experience to do what I want which will give me more time off :D

^_^ well I did IT in college for a year, but I lost interest in it, and I thought I would like to do joinery, but at the moment Im looking to get a course in photography, and maybe a national diploma

if you want weddings, follow some togs about...hassle them, dont expect money and expect to carry bags etc....but listen to how they talk to their clients...watch how they arrange people etc...that is worth more than money

learning at college is fine, but out in the field is where it works....i did a city & guilds 747 (shows my age) failed my gcse photography..but i now am the main tog in a high end portrait studio...learnt what i know from just doing it...

Do you think some local photographers would let me walk about with them etc?

You can try Microstock in your free time.It will not make you rich but it can give you enough to buy lenses. It's also a way to learn about photography.

I'd recommend Shutterstock

Daniel, I have no idea what you earn but could you not look at working tax credits? A mate of mine who works in the benefits system said I should have a look and see if I qualified. I believe I earn enough for a comfortable life, ok I would like to own a house but that will come, anyway I gave them a call answered their questions and was told I qualified and would be entitled to about £200-£300 per month. I just need to get my finger out and stick the application in I never even thought I would be entitled to anything with my earnings I just don't know if I could become someone on benefits.
