Having just taking delivery today of the 17-55mm and 70-200mm f2.8 ahead of Sunday's wedding.
I've checked everything and strapped both lenses to my 50D and what a difference in quality! :D
I thought the Tamron 17-50mm was good but the Canon 17-55mm is in a different league!
As for the 70-200mm, lets not even go there

It's going to be so hard to part with these lenses!!!! :'(

Big thanks to Stewart and his team though for a smooth hire transaction!
I promise your goods will be returned safe and sound! :p

I almost cried when I packed the 24-70 & 70-200 f2.8 in their boxes to send them back!! :(

They are very helpful at Lensforhire though! :)

just thinking of hiring the 4.5m fisheye to have a play with on the tp meet in june

Well I can highly recommend them!
From customer service right through to the packaging (with the trendy hazzard tape) :D

When I saw your subject I thought this was going to be that you were having problems with LFH which surprised me. I've used LFH lots of times and they're service has always been absolutely first rate every time. The only drawback is, as you say, having to give them their nice expensive lenses back again.

I have used them, they are brilliant.
I ordered a 24-70 at 2pm yesterday and it will be with me by 5.30pm today and all for about £50 for 3 days, thats pretty go going but as has been said I guess it will have to go back:thumbsdown:

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the title of this thread!

Goodness knows what will happen when Google picks up on it. But I guess if somebody sees the thread title on Google, they're probably going to be curious to see what it's about ... and that's OK.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. It's feedback like this that makes the job enjoyable.

Stuart ... We can easily blacklist you, if you like. Save you the pain of going through this again.

I think this thread is a very good advertising and for sure makes people curios and you end up with real life example from someone who's had a wonderful experience. nothing better. and I completely understand the OP's pain :D
