Hi all,
I HATE iTunes! Transferred iTunes from old PC to new PC-all good or so I thought! Got two admin accounts on new PCs- in one account all songs are as they should be- in the other account songs are missing! I've shared the music folders but still some songs are missing. iTunes says it can't find source files.
Am I missing something?
Steve

iTunes won't be looking in the folders, it will be looking in it's library. The library is normally in <yourusername>/Music (or however, Windows organises things nowadays) so the two admin accounts have probably got separate libraries. To change iTunes library, hold down the SHIFT key while opening iTunes, it will then ask you if you want to Choose or Create a library. Tell it to use the location for the library that contains everything. Ensure that you and SYSTEM have "full control" of the folder with the library in it.

Perhaps first calm down a bit and stop blaming iTunes for your own mistakes :God:

This is really simple, if you want to share the same iTunes libraries between two accounts on the same machine then there are plenty of online guides on how to do that. You do not need admin accounts for that. A simple google search will provide many a guide.

An alternative approach which is absolutely brilliant and easy is to use Apple Music and family sharing. My family has access to all my library without requiring admin access to anything on my laptop. In fact they are on the other side of this planet and can still access it.

iTunes is brilliant, it works really well on both Mac and PC or without.

A more accurate less dramatic description would be to hate yourself for doing it wrong ;) :p

Itunes is sh1te it's the reason i won't ever have an Iphone again.

Some of what you say may be correct, but this bit, nope. ITunes is crap.

Unless you are happy to use Apple products only it's best to stay away ;)

I have to say I hate iTunes too and constantly swore at it..
Android now and just use Spotify

Play it through Bluetooth in my car

Yep the radio bit is great, I can't complain at any of it, it's easy to make playlists and the browse genres is pretty cool too.
I should have switched years ago :D

Yep I can't complain about the price, I heard YouTube were bringing out a similar thing but I think I'm set with Spotify..I've had it a few years but it's only the last year I've gone over completely

Well I've got it sorted ! Turns out the iTunes on my wife's account was looking in a different folder for the tunes. Still have a strange problem though- some playlists in her account have no song titles and when I ask for them it says cccb can't find song info but when I switch to my account the info is all there!

.
Cheaper? I thought they were both a tenner.
Exactly there is nothing really between them for single user accounts. The family sharing of iTunes is really good, and so are the offline organisational capabilities and not least the ability to add your music and mix it with the full iTunes catalog.

I was using mix radio for a while, but much prefer iTunes music. Spotify comes free with my phone account, so good they have to give it away ;) I still don't use it.

I am essentially a windows/android user for the most part

However I do use apple products, I have an iPad simply because in my view apple are much better at this and it does what I need it to, I also use an iPod as does my daughter & wife

I have a love hate relationship with iTunes but I usually get there in the end

I've had an iPod Classic for years 120gb which I've now upgraded to iPod touch 128gb which I bought and synced yesterday no real issues. I don't buy stuff from iTunes Store but just upload CD's or mixes from YouTube. Simple and I've always been happy with iTunes for my needs.
