That's right, I hate cannons...civil war re-enactment down the road, they've been at it for 3 days.

So, hands up, who though we were having a Nikon vs. Canon thread? :lol:

Don't care. At least the cannons have stopped now. Had half a mind to hotwire a tank and put a stop to it myself, and claim victory in the name of 'STFU! IT'S A FRIGGIN' BANK HOLIDAY!'
 
LOL I'd have been down there taking pics - I love that enactment stuff.

I can see how it gets on your tits a bit though when it's so near home.
 
It's at the tank museum, and I refuse to pay for entry there, which I'd need to to watch it. My unit does a lot of work for them, but for a registered charity they certainly make quite a profit. I wouldn't mind, but when we play military band or dance band concertd it's a fight just to get comp tickets for our families. I like the reenactment stuff, but I'm more into modern conflict, WW1, WW2, Korea, and it's only a matter of time before we start seeing Gulf conflict reenactments IMO.

No such thing as NAAFI anymore mate, at least not over here (Germany and Cyprus, amongst other places, still have facilities with the old 'Naffi' logos I think, it's been a while. Cyprus was 2005, Germany was 2007). In the UK it's all private contracts...and worse still the 2 main contracters, Sodexho and Avenance, are FRENCH!

Wouldn't be so bad, but they're ****ing useless. Sodexho are the lesser of the two Frog evils, but they lost the contract here after getting under cut by over 2 mil. And who suffers? We do.
