Travelling home from Inverness last night, a roe deer ran out in front of the car.
Result, one less roe deer in the world + front end damage to the car, b****r!

The worst of it is I'd just overtaken another car about mile back, If I hadn't I probably wouldn't have hit it.:bang::bang:

Rant over

I had to club one with the Land Rover jack to put it out of it's misery after the car in front had hit it. It was the right thing to do but still very hard.

and the even worse news is you can't keep / eat it, you have to leave it for the next person :)

ouch, I feel for you mate!

I had a lucky escape a few years back in the highlands of scotland. I was driving along a road at night and had main beams on, then a car came towards me, so I returned to normal headlights, once past I put the main beams back on and running alongside the road and just in front of the front wing of my car, less than 3 foot away were 2 red deer.

As you can imagine that works better than any redbull for getting your attention. I didn't know whether to speed up or slow down or just hope. Then After a lifetime (probably 2-3 seconds) they decided to bolt back into the wooded area to the left and away from the road and more importantly my car!!

ouch! unlucky. i havnt hit anything as big as that, but im pretty sure ive decapitated a rabbit with the strut brace on my old saxo :D

hope the repairse arent too costly :(

Had a near miss last winter..

Driving home from work, on a long straight in complete darkness, no cars in front, behind or coming the other way, doing about 55..

I get may be halfway down and a car comes round the corner behind me on to the straight, its headlights appear in the rear view mirror, I glance up, fix my vision back on the road in front and theres a deer stood in the middle of the road! crap! no time to brake, so I swerve to the left around it, look in my rear view mirror, nothing (but the car behind). It must of darted off to my right where he came from..
