I got the job!!!

Woops, thats ME that has the job, not Sarah. Was logged in as her on her laptop. Doh! :D

Had an interview at Northumbria Uni today for the 'Digital arts and media technican' vacancy. It involved a 10 minute presentation infront of about 15-20 academic and technical staff. That was hard as they hammered me with questions aferwards. I then had a short panel interview which went better. Came out of it feeling drained (physically and mentally) and not too confident. But I got a call at about 4pm and I got the job!! Woop woop! With it comes great opportunities for development and contacts etc, as well as a £5k payrise over my existing job. Still hasn't hit me properly. :D

That has to be the most wonderful feeling in the word, getting that dream job!
Bet you're on cloud nine at the moment, ain't ya! :) but well done on chincing that job.

That's fantastic!! :D

I've had a day that really needed some good news and yours will do nicely.:thumbs:

Well done!

Forgive my ignorance but what does the job involve exactly?

Cheers. It it involves a huge range of things from video editing to photography, sound editing, web design etc etc. I'll basically be preparing facilities and helping staff and students. Its a perfect job for me.:woot:

What school did you work in? I'll be a part of the School of Arts and Social Sciences. In what way was it a good place to work? Are there many staff social events etc? Ive noticed there are a couple of gyms in the uni, so hopefully I can use them for cheap/free which will save me money in my new fitness regime. :)

Congratulations :)

Well done Alasdair. Hopefully, when all this stress is out of the way, we may get to see more of your photos again?

Paul

Certainly will Paul. With the move, Sarah getting a new job, me commuting and job hunting etc etc i simply haven't had a great deal of time to keep the shutter clicking or even to develop shots. I have a huge backlog of shots I need to process (And some pretty nice ones if I may say so myself). Im also in the process of changing the gallery part of my website and am adding my entire back catalogue of decent shots to it, so I don't really want to add any new ones until that is all done. But once things settle down, then I certainly will be getting out again.

Might also join another local tog group. Any of you local Geordie folks go to any tog groups in the toon? Im considering the one in Gosforth. Oh and any decent and easy to get to nature reserves about? Need to be able to get to them with public transport.
