After attending an Everton Hall Of Fame Dinner at the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool last night, I managed to get 4 of my pictures published today in the local paper. The dinner included some very well known guests in the world of Everton and football, including Bill Kenwright, Duncan Ferguson, Howard Kendall, David Unsworth and a few more so was a good night.

The Liverpool Echo chose 4 of my pictures of the night as I managed to get in a much better position than their tog and they put them in the late edition which I am quite pleased about.
They may even put a few more in the football section tomorrow which will be a double bonus!!

I am quite pleased at the images that turned out considering I had to shoot at ISO 2000 at times simply because the light in the main hall was god damn awful.

So my first attempt at getting images published and I get 4 all on one whole page so well chuffed.
Anyone local who got a late Echo today they are on page 50 if you want to have a mooch.

Here is one of the pics they chose

Not seen him for a number of years, but looks like Druncan Fergie. (His Ma' and Da' live round the corner from me.)

I was going ot ask who Duncan Ferguson was.....Ok, news item tells me he is a footballer. Lost interest immediately. Didn't get as far as who he played for!

Rugger was good yesterday though - that Irish game was a real nailbiter. Sorry, going off topic.

Well done for getting some great shots.

He played for Dundee United and Rangers also. One of the hardest foreheads in and out of football.

Well done Paul !
Feels good, doesn't it !

Yeah I was bloody made up. And because its a local rag everyone I know has read it, i.e family and friends and then got loads of text messages asking if thats my name in the paper.

And to answer the point further up, on this occassion I never got paid but I entered an agreement with the paper that the images were licensed for single use only, this way I get something for my portfolio and a bit of a confidence boost. The paper is owned by the Trinity Mirror group and the guy said if anyone else within the group wanted to use the images at any point in the future then it would be noted they would need to contact me obtain a license...this would of course be paid for :) so all in all I am quite happy with the deal before anyone starts telling me I am mug for not getting any payment. I served an apprenticeship many many years ago and now feel like this is another so certainly not in a position to start demanding cash for my images. Gotta cut your teeth somehow and this to me is a great little bit of publicity and so far it has worked wonders, so many people have seen my work and congratulated me so it only bodes well for the future.

Fairs fair if someone tried to rob your house I am sure you wouldnt stand back and say "go on mate", the only other incident was the headbutt many many years ago but you have to be honest and say you have seen much much worse that has gone unpunished on the football pitch in recent times.

Roy Keane and IngeHaaland. . . If Duncan got got a stint in Barlinne then Keane should have spent a bit of time in Strangeways dont you think?

P.S Kayjay...I got my site working. I uploaded it again today using my Mac Pro and Cyberduck FTP and it worked straight away...odd hey?
