Yes
Long story short...I take photos at my son's football games (u14) most weekends, I always get permission from both teams parents.

Anyway 2 weeks ago I decided to take some video and ended up getting 2 or 3 cracking goals from my son's team so I posted them to facebook everyone was saying great goal etc etc, so I was shocked to get a phone call from my sons team coach saying thr was a complaint and could I remove the photos/videos?

I was confused until I watched the videos and noticed that a player on the other team looked terrible at football when he is ment to be one of the top players.

By the way he played for my son's team las season.

so the complaint was that your video was making one of the players look bad?

don't see a problem - leave the video up

if you look crap you most likely are crap

I'd say you're jumping to conclusions about the reason why someone complained.
It could have been anything from a privacy issue even down to a child protection order.

Haha, I can't see any valid reason to complain about that video. What about the boy who scored, surely he must be loving the video, I'm sure he doesn't want it taken down.

In the OP he stated he had permission from the parents, so I doubt it's that (providing he did get permission)

agree with marcel, and I have to do a double take here, this comment is coming from an adult (a parent) about u14 boys football ..... right?

I was confused until I watched the videos and noticed that a player on the other team looked terrible at football when he is ment to be one of the top players.

We simply don't know why someone complained about this, the OP just assumed it was because the video made one of the players look bad. I don't suppose it makes any difference, but I could imagine parents agreeing to "home movies" without realising that you intended to publish them on Facebook?

If it's only posted on Facebook and not as a comment on someone else's wall then surely only 'your friends' can see it, which surely makes the complaint a little more bizarre.......

How do you post a video from youtube so that the video is visible not just the url ?

take everything after the v= on the address and then wrap the

[ YOUTUBE ][ /YOUTUBE]

tags around it

In the link to the Youtube video, copy the text after the "v=".

In your video, that's: UAdRM7XEfuk&hd=1

Next, click "new post" and...

Either click the youtube icon (above the reply text box, on the right hand side) and paste the text you copied inbetween the square-bracketed tags that appear (making sure there are no spaces).

Or type the youtube "tags" manually as Joe describes above, and paste the text you copied inbetween as above (again, without spaces).

Edit: Great goal but I'm not sure your Youtube username is the best choice and probably isn't doing you any favours when the kids parents see it. I mean, "ILOVEPNUS"? Dear me...

Ask for the complaint to be put in writing. What you need to have in print is who is making the complaint- what is the relationship between the boy and the complainant- what the complaint is about- when the objection was made-who it was initially made to etc

If they arn't willing to put it in writing then ignore it. Once it is in print they then leave themselves open to all sorts of legal stuff so more than likely you won't hear another word.

I don't see any problem with the vid

he needs to work on his goal celebration.

I find this whole thread bizarre. Let me just get this right:

1. you video some kids playing football
2. put it on facebook
3. Someone complains
4. You post a thread here telling us all about the complaint, with no real question - you weren't asking whether you should take it down or not, it was just a story
5. You comment that one of the lads playing is bad at football when he's supposed to be good and add another little tit bit that he was also on your sons team last season- was it the guy who made the carp tackle?
6. you post the video on youtube

is it just me that finds this all a bit random?

I argree with the earlier post that suggested you ask for the complaint in writing with a copy for your solicitor.

A little over the top maybe. Certainly ask the coach (who asked you to take it down) who complained and on what grounds. The decision then is yours.

Just watching the video where the player gets 2 red cards. Whats the crack with that? The whole ball didnt cross the line then the goalkeeper was impeded. Plus was the lad sent off not the captain??

The ref was a total plonker mate

It looks like it mate! Ive done a few refereeing course and i play myself.

The lad thats talking to the ref seems to be asking for an explanation, he doesnt seem like hes being agressive or even arguing. Hope he challenged the ban (if he got one?) and at least you won.

On the topic of the OP vid, cracking goal, cant see why you should get a complaint about it but im no expert on that.

Good effort from the goal scorer.
If you're after crit, your horizon is a bit off :D
