I feel a little bit sick

It happens, I was one of the first to buy the 5D3 there for I brought at the top end of the prices, it's now come down by £6-700 on what I paid for it, but I've had 8 months of enjoyment out of it so far, and you've done the same with your camera, that's the way to look at it, if you constantly think about how much you could have saved in live you'll spend a lot of life fed up, besides if you wait for it to reach it's lowest price before you buy, you'll then want the one that is a couple of generations newer anyway ;)

There are exceptions. I have made money on every Rolex I have owned (even the one I bought brand new) which makes them a great purchase (as long as you like them!)

Digital cameras are however in the same camp as computers, phones and so on and onto a loser as soon as you buy it.

Aye its unfortunate that stuff depreciates so fast, I'm not that bothered really as I'm having the time of my life with my camera and my few sales have more than gave me the money back :-) going for another look at another couple of local comet stores tomorrow to see if they have any bargain wide angle lenses. Long shot I know but worth a punt!

I recently sold a car for £16000, that cost me £45000 and only did 12500 miles in it. Feel any better now? :D:lol:

I posted this February 2011, wasn't expecting Comet to be the best price

Best price for a Canon 550D was at.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comets, bit surprised really and that was for a UK model with 18-55 kit lens

My daughter wanted a new camera and after all the searching Comets came out cheapest at an after discount price of £585.89, best price otherwise was Amazon at £599
Original price was £629.99, but there is a discount code (7600) which gives 7% off anything over 600 quid, reserved and collected, even rang to say it was ready to pick up

I bought my 5D3 in march when the price first dropped from £3000. I paid £2875 and now the same vendor is selling it at under £2000. I'm not unduly worried about the difference though, I've taken over 10,000 photos photos with it and thoroughly enjoyed having it.

It's insured for the price I paid for it though so if the worst happens I'll get the difference back anyway, not that I'd want to go without it, it's by far the best camera I've ever used.
