Forgetting to print out my entry for the POTY in Practical Photography at work, decided to buy some new ink for my Epson printer that's been sitting on a shelf unused for over two years.

First run through and it's printed perfectly!! Totally amazed, as all the Epson printers I've had in the past have just clogged up after a few week of not being used.

The wonders of modern tech... :)

Thought I'd share that....

What model have you got mate?

I am thinking about getting a decent printer thats all

If you like printing CD's, I print photos on my discs, then you can't beat the Epson Photo R200, but this model has now been superceeded by later numbers, such as R235 etc. These all appear to be good and you can get some good cheap compatible inks for them too. If the inks do clog up I have found taking them out and giving them a good shake sometimes works.

This is just a cheapo stylus photo RX420 printer/scanner jobbie that cost me about £99 three years ago. Only bought it because I couldn't find space for a seperate scanner alongside a printer. It does excellent full bleed prints though. It's a four ink (CMYK) printer with seperate refills for each colour.

I'm gonna get an A3 photo printer soon but for now, this is great for doing basic prints and printing text. Just bloody amazed it still works!! :)

Used to have a Epson SP 500 that was the tits (cost me loads back in 1999) but that was SCSI so got rid of it along with my tranny scanner. The 500 just kept blocking up all the time and I spent loads on ink, which I thought would be the same with this one.

I've got 3 Epson printers, and I must say I've never had a clogged head, even when one stands unused for several months. I've purchased a head cleaning kit , just in case but never needed to use it. Have to say I now use only Epson branded inks. Have tried om, but never got on with them
