i was woken up by my wife at 3:30 am this morning with her telling me her waters had broken!.

we got to the hospital at 4am, and at 6:04am he was born!!!! 2 hours labour,

hes our first baby. and he was 5 weeks early weighing just 5lb 13oz.

but hes absolutly perfect and completely stable, ive been sat next to him for 14 hours today at the hospital just trying to take it all in.

he had a little trouble with his blood sugar levels and keeping a temperature but all seems well now

mum is well too, she was lucky she had such a quick birth.

we are so happy its unreal,

although im a tad tired!.

funny thig is it was only yesterday i put the baby seat in the car and a plastic matress protector on the bed "just in case"

anyway heres a picture of our baby boy Daniel James

thanks for looking

Congratulations, get some sleep in, you'll need it:D

Congratulations to you and your wife

:woot: Congratulations both of you. Can I just say, make the most of the next 12 months, enjoy every sleepless night, every disgusting nappy [no doubt you have had one or two already], every vomit stain on the shoulders of your shirts and every single exhausted moment, because once they are teenagers, there are many times you yearn for those early days again

Looks like you've got a polar explorer in the making there. Congratulations and all the best.

congrats :)

Congrats to you both.:clap::clap::clap:

Enjoy the 4 hourly feeds night and day, the early mornings, the tiredness, the everything else involved, it's really worth it, my boy is 21 months now and he's a right little star, ask Marcel and Jimmy lemon, they met him last week :D

I remember the feeling like it was yesterday-what a great bit of news to hear. take care and have fun with your new addition.

Yay! Congratulations :)

Best feeling in the world
It's one of the hardest jobs, but the most rewarding thing you can do......ever.

Congratulations. If you think you're tired now, give it a few weeks :), enjoy it, while the moment is here it really doesn't last long at all..

Very much so.
I'll never forget the day my little Ruby was born. Never.
It's an absolutely mental feeling, having this little person in your life, who will rely on you so much from now onwards.
But the best feeling in the world.

She's now almost 13 months old, and when people say it goes so fast, BELIEVE THEM!!!!!!

Congrats mate, he's pukka!

Congrats, great news and loadsa fun (and hard work) to come :)

Congratulations

You should take it easy for a few days. Perhaps pop out for a few pints of beer to steady yourself.
These women don't know what us men have to go through.
Well done mate

Keith.

*Send my regards to your wife if you get a minute*

thanks again guys.

i had a good night sleep last night as they are still at the hospital,

i cant believe it, all the time she was pregnant i couldnt really take it in, but the moment i had him in my arms i was a ball of tears, so many emotions running through me.
hes had a really good night too, just sleeping next to mummy, i cant wait to get back to the hospital to see them both :)

Congrats to both of you on your sons birth.

Congratulations on Daniel!! and glad it all went so well, so have you planned what his first camera is going to be :-p

Congratulations indeed to all of you

I remember when my son was born, the total feeling of awe as you hold the precious bundle for the first time

Enjoy it, its great fun

Congrats! he's gorgeous and looks like he has lots of hair hiding under that hat. Very well done to mummy - that was quick!!
Temperature and blood sugar instability are very normal at 35 weeks. He'll probably go quite jaundiced as well being 5 weeks early, but he'll be home before you know it.
