It's a normal night, then all of the sudden one of my books on the desk tilted over, like domino effect it tilted the next one and then towards a mug of coffee......next thing i know the keyboard (3 days old), was COVERED in coffee.....




Think it'll work after i dried it? :thumbup:

Nope, sgot leccytronics in it :p

I'd let it dry out super thoroughly before plugging it in.

I used to give my old MS keyboard a good shower (after taking the circuit board out)...Worked wonders.

seriously if its a sealed silicon rubber one it should be fine they say but gonna watch this one:thumbs:
 
Stick in the airing cupboard.
 
I am surprised after the coffee experience you let your 5D11 so near that much water !!!!!

I'd say give it a week in the airing cupboard before trying it. Shorter if you can open it up.

Yes, I know. But unless you can open it up it can take that long to get the all important dampness out of those little crevices i.e between the keyboard membrane contacts. And we all know what sort of damage dampness in your crevices can do.
 
Just spilled lemon tea all over my desk at work, not on the keyboard this time but my lap = pants.....had to take them off and rinse them in the loo. I am now wearnig wet pants in the office. :(

If it's the type with membrane layers then it would be better to take it apart to allow the layers to dry out.

Several years ago, WHS (IIRC) were knocking out cheap keyboards for £1.99. Perfect insurance! I have one sitting on top of a bookshelf just waiting for me to spill something into this keyboard but it hasn't happened yet... (Touching wood, kicking black cats etc)

However, in the past I've managed to fill several remote controls with all sorts of sugary liquids and all of them have survived after having the batteries whipped out as fast as possible and being rinsed off under a warm tap as soon as possible then being stripped down as far as possible to check I've got as much as possible of the juice or whatever out. A week in the airing cupboard to dry out should be enough, especially if you manage to get it stripped down a bit to get better air circulation round the guts of the thing.

Not a chance for the apple keyboard...there is not a single screw in sight. :(
