I am doing portrait shots of my neice, any tips?

Well I am doing protrait shots of my neice for my sister. THis willbe part of my Neeices first birthday present. Any ideas on a setup as I have no studio equipment what so ever.

Nifty, natural light and chocolate for bribes. Clean nappy and plenty of toys. LOADS of patience!!!
 
You want nice natural soft light, so try to be near a window.
Nice clean background, not too much clutter.
You could try using a soft white blanket to have your neice sit on (before she crawls away)

Erm....just let her play really, because you want to capture photos that look natural.

Maybe have an IgglePiggle toy at hand because all 1 year olds are fascinated by In The Night Garden :thumbs:
