Very impressive Graham, I think Rossi would have save it though, not splitting hairs or anything :D

Something wasn't quite right about that image.....

Ahhh, there we go! ;)

:D  Seems that my career as a freelance cartoonist has already hit the skids.

Ha ha - flipping ha ha. The image was lovely until you messed with it. Nothing comic about folk being thrown off bikes!

Agreed

Oh my God, whatever.

to be fair as an ex biker who's been knocked off several times (the last one being a riding ending, colar bone braking smidsy with a transit van) I still found gmans edit moderately amusing

(but then i've been a soilder, a forester, contractor, paramedic, and a ranger there's very little that we won't laugh at given the choice of laughter or tears  )

That said i'd suggest it could be :lock: time

It just hits a nerve when you have lost a friend that way.

No from a horse btw

I know! Its the indifference that hurts - the 'whatever' did the damage... :(

I think we should cut Graham a bit of slack. It's a forum remember we don't each other from adam. It would be insensitive if G knew that you lost a friend. There is no point walking on eggshells in an open forum.

Even though this is a regulated forum. Peeps are still allowed to spout their views whether we agree with them or not.

One thing that gets my goat is people saying stay on topic. Why? Especially on OOF. Digression makes the world go round.

Thank you. I'm also an ex biker with many accidents. Have to be able to laugh sometimes, it's not like the drawing was particularly graphic :)

Me too but with one accident, and hopefully I'll still be a biker lol, agreed, you need to have a sense of humour.... And I did nearly lose my life, I'm not taking anything to heart on here, I found some of the posts on here funny!

Yes it's annoying having to avoid it but hey! ***** happens hehehe

How come all the bikers are reasonable on this thread - amazing - considering that they fall foul of the horse crap daily? Indeed, i suspect that horses equally reasonable also.

Its just a pity that flipping horse-riders are not as considerable as everyone else.....

probably because when you are regularly nearly killed by bmws, souped up corsa's with daft body kit, dozy female drivers who are breast feeding while driving (no joke - that actually happened to me), HGVs and pillocks in transit vans - all of whom think its an acceptable excuse to say " sorry mate, i didnt see you " (well you should have been looking where you were ****ing going then you ****tard ) [/rant]

its hard to get too excited about horse poop - yes they should clear it up but they arent going to , and lifes too short to spend it getting stressed about the selfish wunch of bankers with whom we share the roads

Hubby says it's riding that makes him so chilled - he is so laid back he is almost horizontal - any weight on his shoulders is exorcised twice a day.

Do you have valid evidence back up that very accusatory statement

well i'm a biker (or I was till a pillock in a transit van nearly sheesh kebabbed me) and I can say from personal experience that horse crap on country lanes is a damn nuisance .. just not worth getting worked up about as its no worse than mud, oil, and dead animals

Yes - horse riders who leave poop on the roads; Keep up....

Because horses poo daily???

Just thinking.... Lol

I've also been a boy (not in a corsa) racer too.... Not the kind that races tho, the kind that modifies the car, to what at the time I thought was good, what I actually laugh at now, and takes pride in the car...

I always thought if I wanted to race I'd buy something fast like a bike..... So I bought a bike and took too much pride in that to race it.... Plus there is too much horse doodoo on the road to risk it lol!!!

Ironically, I've actually never came across horse manure in my whole time riding - areas being primarily London but also out to Brighton, up to Scotland a few times etc.

The biggest enemy without doubt is car drivers. For a while I thought it was because bikes were smaller and perhaps faster, that's why they never saw me. But now, I get just as many cars pulling out on me when I'm driving a sodding car! lol

If we are realistic, I think the roads are just too busy these days so the odds of coming across bad drivers is increased. I'm sure I've probably been deemed a bad driver by others without realising it.

Yep - we need more roads! :cheeky:

Maybe you could consider emulating them, rather than reigniting this thread every night.

During all the years I rode a bike it never caused me a problem either.

Luckychip's got horse-turd on the brain. :)

Edit: Luckychip, just looked at your previous posts - you do know this is a photography forum, right?

What lucky guys you are - are you sure that you are not just concentrating on the cars and not noticing?
I am driven demented with the whole issue of horse-crap on the road - you can't miss it in this neck of the woods, great steaming mounds of the stuff :sigh:

Yep - am completely aware thanks. This particular thread is not about photography though!

what i meant was, do you have evidence that proves bikers fall foul of it daily? statistics or similar listing how many bikers have accidents each day that can be contributed to horse muck

I look forward to seeing you post some pics sometime, instead of banging the horse-poo drum every day. :D

I have posted pics! Check out the 'Jack Russell reverence' thread... and please feel free to be as critical as you like :-)

Or do you mean you think I should post pictures of the horse doo-doo itself? (I'd rather not.....)

Don't be silly! This isn't a reasoned, rational debate; it's just one person and a (slightly odd) pet hate that they just can't drop.

true, but i dont like it when people claim something like that without backing it up. A (slightly odd) pet hate of my own:)
