i'm convinced this country must be the laughing stock of the world :shake:
Oh, we're a lot more than just a laughing stock

But you said you can't reason 'with people like him'. Surely you don't think anyone who breaks the law is beyond reason?
These arent simple criminals, they are fanatical, violent, sadistic people and
cannot be reasoned with. They are very dangerous, he faces terrorist charges
in Jordan and should be deported there to face those charges. We should not
be paying or pampering these people..

Given the opportunity would you go back in time and execute Hitler or would
you try to reason with him ?. I know which would get the most votes

Yep and he's just been awarded £2500 for breach of his human rights, i'm convinced this country must be the laughing stock of the world :shake:

He should get the compensation in my opinion, as should anybody who is locked up long term without a trial.

I still believe in innocent until proven guilty, if he has done wrong (which we know he has) then put him on trial and get a jury to find him guilty, then lock him up.

It's a very slippery slope when you allow a state to lock people away with out trial.

Aye, if only it was that simple eh ?

Unfortunately, they usually have better lawyers which has nothing to do with
innocence or guilt. And we all end up with legal bill for millions for what ?

Sling him back to Jordan and let them sort him out

Do you not think he has been given enough of taxpayers money which he shouldn't of had then ?

Why not introduce concentration camps, there's a lot of people posting here who would make great guards.

we are we all still wasting bandwidth talking about stuff that is of no value to this forum at all? Radio 2 had a good rant about this today, that is a better platform for political/religious discussions. I might have to make it a rule soon cos these threads just get up my nose.

Ridiculous. But then why didn't they give him a trial, find him guilty (I'm assuming he is!), and then sentance him? This detaining people without charge thing is screwed up, as are most of our 'anti-terror' laws...
I still don't believe it should have gone that far more tax payers money "wasted"
I still beleive he should have been turned straight round and sent "home"

They've used the war on terror to harrass innocent photographers and journalists, yet when they actually have a real terrorist in custody they can't sentance him and end up giving him thousands of pounds in benefits instead :bang:

Precisely

With respect I see 50 responses so there is some value there.

'value' is debateable tbh

ive asked several times in various threads to leave the politics/religion at the door, peoples views and opinions on these subjects cause arguments, bad feeling and disharmony that have NOTHING to do with the main content of the forum, i dont mind people arguing over canon and nikon, or wedding togs vs amatuers as those things are all relevant, but arguing about religion and politics is a waste of time and space.
