Been reading for a while and thought I would introduce myself.
I started in photography when I was 13 (my chemistry teacher taught me how to process B&W and used to prefer spending PE lessons hidden in the dark room processing :) ). Had the urge at 18 to want to study photography/photojournalism properly but bent to others wishes and went off to do a "proper" degree at Uni. Spent most of my Uni years in the darkroom and photographing everything I could for the student mag (bands, famous visitors, campus news stories etc) and doing promo stuff for student plays etc. Bought my lovely Nikon F3 at the time second hand.

Sadly on leaving Uni I probably sold out and instead went into computers/IT where I started freelancing and running my own business doing freelance/contract software/web work. Am now though in a position where I want to get back to my first love. So am planning on taking a lot more photographs over the coming year whilst still working the "day" job. Have also booked myself in for a studio course at the Blackthorn school.
Currently using a nikon D100 which I have now had for years. I've got a couple of zooms with this and a tamron macro lens as have also grown to like macro photography. Am interested mainly in people pics and macros - never grown to love landscape. I still though love doing a lot of stuff in B&W.

There seems to be a lot of talented people on this forum - both in the photography and business side - whom I hope to learn from. Hopefully once I get back in the swing of taking regular photographs I can learn also from critiques from the members.

anyhow sorry for the whaffle
