Yes
I see the new Hudl 2 is out and at a great price (£129) - or even less with voucher and it had excellent reviews.

I am tempted to replace my ancient Hannspad but just wondering if anyone on here has one yet and what its like

The initial reviews are all good, it seems like a lot of tablet for little money when compared to the competition.

Yes it does look good and with code can be had for £114 which is brilliant....

My old Hannspad was ahead of its time when it came out as a budget tablet. It was £150 at the time for a 10" tablet with SD card etc and only thing close was the ipad which had no SD card and cost an absolute fortune but its getting old now and I had to root it to keep it running smooth now.

I remember I took it to a customer to show photos and he had the ipad and he said after seeing mine and what it cost me he was going to sell his and buy the hannspad

Well as no one on here seems to know I will enlighten you

Bought the Hudl 2 and so far VERY impressed - Great screen, good size (8.3") its funny my last tablet was 10" but the used amount of screen is the same as the Hudl 2 so all very good up until now (fingers crossed) and it feels great to hold with a rubbery style plastic back which comes in various colours. I got the orange which looks great :naughty:

Buying 1 for my sons for Xmas present! He will only be using it for games and bits, looks too good for him so might have to keep it for myself :)

im slightly tempted to replace my ipad2 with one.

can you get rid of all the tesco installed crud easily? its been a while since i used android.

Yeah to right, it does have excellent child controls if you did want to give it to your sons but they are not activated by default

im slightly tempted to replace my laggy ipad2 with one.

No I think you are stuck with it but its easy to ignore really and a small price to pay for a tablet of this spec at this price

To be honest I am not sure yet, I did not charge it when I got it as it had about 7% charge I then charged if for about an hour and used it quite a bit and its about 40% now. It does say charge for 3 hours when you first get it but I didn't

Also when you first start it there is an update to download which is around 100MB or so

Yeah I will not root just yet as my last tablet was rooted and it did help but I also had problems and glitches after

I've never fancied the Hudl thing - I just got a Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch from Amazon for £100 with a years warranty - £100 because it came without the charging lead!!

Seems a good buy but for £23 more or £14 in our case as first time customer discount with the Hudl 2 you get

1920 x 1,200 Full HD (Galaxy Tab 1,280 x 800)

1.83 GHz Intel quad-core processor (Galaxy Tab 1.5GHz dual-core)

Android 4.4.2 KitKat (Galaxy Android 4.2)

Trusted Review Hudl 2 ( 4.5 Stars out of 5)

Trusted Review Galaxy Tab 3 ( 3 Stars out of 5)

I haven't seen anything about that. Is it causing lag by just running in the background or is there another reason?

That seems like a pretty poor decision, the Tab 3 seems an inferior product in almost every aspect.

.....apart from the fact the Hudl looks like a steaming pile of dog pooh, you're probably right, but I just needed something in a hurry.... :D

Picked mine up today, really impressed for the money.

Yeah its good isn't it, it has its faults like everything - well minor niggles to be honest like the little jingle when it starts and my USB plug is very stiff. But nothing to diminish the fact that it's a cracking good buy

Why do you say that ?

Why do you think it's a "steaming pile of dog poo" ?

'Looks like,' I said - don't like the physical look of it; but that's just a personal opinion of course.....

Yeah my USB was stiff too, thought I was going to break it. Buttons are a little fiddly in the soft touch (£20) case but not a biggy.

Must admit it's not a very subtle startup :D especially with those ridiculous speakers, they really pack a punch..

I really like the look, stylish yet subtle.

Spending the most time relearning Android and figuring out what apps are best. Been 3 + years since I went to Apple.

It's look like any number of Android tablets, you aren't saying Android tablets look bad are you? ;) ;)

They're not too bad, but I find Apple tablets are normally shinier and are owned by nicer people..... :D

Just to let you know there is another update for the Hudl 2 - just click on settings and check for update
just applied it ta, android version unchanged though. wonder what it actually did..

dont suppose you have your official charger to hand do you? if so, what is the power rating on it? having a real mare getting it to charge quickly. USB charging is SO SLOW.

Why don't you have a 'proper' charger ?

I did not know you could buy without charger ?

Output is 5v on official charger which is pretty standard I think - my Moto G is 5v to

No I have no idea what that update did either it just said fixing bugs etc

I could agree with the first part of that statement if we took the the word shinier literally. The second part is self defeating :p
