HTC Desire

hmmm would you recommend that over Nokia N900 and Sony X10?

Does it have good music playback quality? Good for watching movies?

sorry for all the questions!

I think Sony and HTC are on android....the N900s on Maemo.

I would recommend it over the Sony X10. I had a look at the Sony in the shop and it didn't feel right for some reason.

Music playback is good and watching movies is excellent on the OLED screen.:)

b****r, gone and yes to the X10! Oh well, if its not good, I'll swap for the HTC.

thanks for the info. :)

I'll be getting an HTC Desire when my contract is up for renewal unless a better Android phone comes along.
I'm currently using a T-Mobile pulse and I really like it, I've rooted it and put a customer ROM on it.
zoomspot, come on then, give us a mini review, is the faster processor an improvement and is Android V2 better?

This is my first Android phone so can't say if it's an improvement on the previous model.

I'm not too good at typing reviews but this website has honest reviews from HTC owners.

It looks like it's a winner with most people.:)

Perfectly adequate

I have had one for just over a week and I love it. So much better than my Samsung Pixon.

Sony X10 arrived,it seems fantastic, and the Android App store is fantastic too. Will try a mini review at some point.

I'm still using my Hero, and it performs surprisingly well now I've 'unofficially' upgraded to Android 2.1!! Camera's still crap on it though....

There you go... I find the camera supurb, as are all the many apps available...gives apple a run for their money...screen is great, despitre sounding very large, it comfortably fits my hand. However, one big minus for me - the audio quality thru the built in speaker is absolutely crap, tinny and muffled...not even stereo speakers on a top end phone! Ah well, can't have everything I guess..

Not many phones have stereo speakers tbh so not really an issue. :)

I have another couple of months til I can upgrade and i'm still not sure which one to get, the X10 or the Desire. The X10 is much better looking IMO but the Desire looks like it may have better software (like my HD)...

All the photos i've seen of the X10 make it look stunning. :(

X10 is really amazing, tbh. The screen is so responsive being capacitive, fits really well in the hand, keyboard rivals iphone, I could go on... Have a go in your local CWH. :)

I looked at the desire and the x10. Ill probably get the desire because the x10 doesnt support flash or multi touch. I love the look of the x10 though. Cant wait to get rid of my n97 mini!

I'm not really a huge fan of capacitive TBH, that is what put me off the HD2 when it came out (not that I would have bought it at the time due to being mid contract). Maybe it's because I like bruting my phone around but I also press with my finger nails (not that they are long) and a decent resistive screen is far more accurate and almost as sensitive as a capacitive screen. My current phone does confuse friends who have been used to iPod touches though as they gently stroke the screen with the pad of their finger and it does virtually nothing, having said that when I used an iPod Touch I couldn't use it either, because I was using my fingernail...

Never found the iPhone keyboard that good TBH, the standard HTC one (not the WinMo one) was far better when I tried both before buying, but each to their own and hopefully the Desire or x10 keyboards will be as good. :)

My gran is the same, she's been used to the cookie, which is resistive, and so used to prodding at it, she couldn't live with a capacitive. This deffo has a good keyboard tbo.
