Hi all

Anyone bought a Hoya Pro1 72mm polarizer cheap recently? Already just bought the Pro1 UV from CameraKing for £32 inc delivery (pretty good I thought?) but they don't have the CPL in stock. Looking at ebay is very tempting......some as low as £43 compared to much more on Amazon (from Hong Kong though!) They can't ALL be fake..can they?

Anybody taken the cheap ebay plunge on one of these and been satisfied?

Thanks

Dougie

Never tried ebay. Amazon is usually the cheapest alternative. I prefer the Hoya HD polariser - mainly because it only loses 1.2 stops of light compared to around 1.7 for the Pro-1.

I'd avoid ebay ones most of them seem to be fakes now

I've heard that the HD doesn't have a screwed front so you can't fit a normal lens cap? Is this right -if so, what do you use?

Hoya HD has a normal front screw thread. Other filters or lens cap fit just fine :)

I think B&W do stupidly thin filters with no front thread.

I got my 67mm Hoya Pro1 from Kerso for £19 so might be worth trying him for a price on a 72mm

You got a 67mm Pro1 polariser for £19? Or do you mean UV?
