It's not a bad filter, although IMVHO a super slim B+W or Hoya HMC Pro 1 would be the absolute best option...
 
We put Hoya Pro 1 Digital filters (either UV or just Protectors) on all our lenses, and we have far more 100-400Ls than any other lens. We haven't had any reports of issues.
 
i've got one (hmc pro 1 digital) and i've not got any problems, shooting in high light yesterday and haven't had any flares, as someone else has said i'd choose either the hoya or a b+w which i'm led to believe is probably a little better but has less resale value based on the fact b+w is known mainly by serious photographers where hoya has full market penetration (or something to that effect) :p
 
i use 77mm hoya pro 1 digital on all my glass, and haven't had problems, although i only use it to protect my lenses from scratches and chips, yes i am weak :(
