Yes
I purchased a brand new Hoya filter from ebay and on the outside of the ring where it says 'Hoya' etc..and normally Japan - well this one says Philippines (instead of Japan). It was sealed and from a UK seller and its was a 'Green' Hoya filter.
Just wondering if it was a fake??

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but whilst hoya green are official and mde by hoya they are generally considered inferior and should be avoided

Mine just says Hoya UV and no country of origin, I would have thought the Green series filters are not worth enough to counterfeit? Had no problems with it all the same.

The green box Hoya filters are made in the Philippines, so it's probably genuine, but as Rick says, they are best avoided....

cheaper hoya filters are made in the philippines since labor are less compare to japan that's why it's cheap but tokina/hoya are also doing business in philippines so it wasn't fake for having made in philippines filters. and those more expensive hoya filters like pro1 etc.. those are the ones that made in japan.
