Hello all!

Well i got all my gear yesterday, and with it all i got-

Hoya Pro 1 Circular PL
Hoya Pro 1 UV

now, this may sound silly but i spent about 5 minutes trying to screw this onto the lens, and when i finally got it on, about 5 mins to take it back off!!

There must be something im missing, not lining up?? how on earth do i put these on easily

feel free to lol at me (but help me first lol)

:agree:
I find it best to just balance the filter on the lens and gentle rotate it at it will usuall "bite". Don't screw it on too tight though because they are a b****r to unscrew!

Yeah, especially in the middle of winter when your fingers are numb with the cold ! :shake:

If you have trouble screwing it on, try turning it anticlockwise first until you feel the first thread "drop" into place and then turn it clockwise to tighten it up.

If you have trouble getting it off, put a rubber glove on ;-)

Was size are they? I find the 77mm a complete bitch! Smaller ones are easier. Most importantly though, don't force it. If it won't go any further, it's quite possibly cross-threaded. Better to start again than damage the filter or (worse) lens.

Brass mounted B+W filters are a lot easier to screw on (with less chance of cross threading), the downside is they're bl**dy expensive!
