I usually hate the term noob, and I usually don't apply it to myself, as I usually have a vaguely good idea of things before jumping into them. Photography however is proving to be difficult for me to learn.

Just wondering really - does anyone have any advice to a beginner photographer, or failing that, any useful websites worth a bookmark that can send me on my way?

hey hey

best advice I would say if there is any particular styles of picture you want to take, brows the section on here it will give you loads of ideas, take it from there, shoot some shots and post them up you will get all the advice you need, you will learn most from making mistakes and shooting, finding out what went wrong.

I found it easier to learn in practice than reading book after book, it just sunk in better for me going out shooting and fiddling with my settings

TalkPhotography is very resourceful; and if you really want to get started from scratch, have a look at the Tutorials & Guides Sub-Forum .. plenty to read in there.

Of course, the web is cluttered with so much to read; my personal recommendation would be to stick around here, read & practice as much as you can.

Of course I will be taking shots at any available moment.... when FujiFilm finally let me have my darn camera. Their disclaimers are a serious pain in the butt.

First let me say welcome to the forum if you have questions never be scared to ask it's the only way we learn that and taking photos and asking fellow members what they think of them you will find most of my posts around the birds and mamals forums
