Hi all,

I'm doing a shoot for my best friend for christmas and we have got a few poses we are going to replicate, but she's presented this one to me and I'd just like other peoples thoughts on this.

My friend has the same skin tone and kind of hair, I'm tempted to get a body painter to give her similar markings on her skin but I was wondering about how people would go about lighting this?

Would just like to get some thoughts and ideas.

Thanks all,
Jake :)

lol, hence the body painters :p

Looks like a composite to me but I think the model is lit with one light, pointing down from above the model and positioned slightly to the left hand side. Light fall off from top to bottom doesn't seem that great so I think the light was quite a bit higher than the model.

Garry Edwards is probably the man to answer this one best though.

I don't know how it was done, but I would use a single light above left. That's all that's needed, the arched back and the shape of her body blocks the light and controls where it falls.
Then another light in front of the model, blocked by her body, pointing at the background.
