How would you frame this shot?

Captured this during the local carnaval earlier this year.....Struggling to decide on how to frame it as the red to the left is distracting, as is the person to the right of the frame.

Tried different crops etc but unable to a way of framing the shot that appeals.

Shame as the interaction between the adult and child makes for a lovely photograph.

Would you leave it as it is, crop, turn monochrome or simply bin it??

I certainly wouldn't bin it; like you say, the interaction is great.

Presumably you've tried this already? (Would a non-rectangular, tall narrow oval, vignetted crop work?)

Yes I had already looked at doing that crop (or very similar), I wasn't sure about losing so much of the blokes shoulder/arm but having looked again at your version, it does look quite good.
...or what about a closer crop and clone:

I definitely wouldn't bin it! :)

I didn't think such a tight crop would work ( so i didn't try this!) as I felt the bag of confetti needed to remain in the frame, however it does still work.

Thanks forposting your ideas guys, much appreciated....and no, i won't bin it!
