Might sound a bit of a daft question, but I'm contemplating getting a 1D mkIII and have heard its waterproof (well weathersealed anyway). I was wondering if the canon pro series are weatherproof what about other models? (like my current 40D) I'm always worried about getting my gear too wet, but not sure if I'm just being a bit over-cautious.
Any advice would be welcome,
Cheers, Mark.

talk to dod he uses a mk3 in down pours and it survives i think

the 1d is weatherproof, dod has one, and his constantly gets covered with mud, but a quick wipe over and it is as good as new, not sure how much i would trust the 40d weatherproofing, but i would guess splashproof. one of the olys is waterproof, i think its chillimonster who held it outside in a downpour and it still works.

dont forget to make sure your lenses are waterproof as well, im sure i saw a thread on this recently. a quick search might help

Quite a few Canon Lenses are only "weather sealed" and only with a filter on the end.
