How warm is it ! Superb !

Been messing around in the pool all afternoon ,and having a super soaker fight with the son .the joys of being a oap :banana::banana:

Just had a look at the Max/Min readings in the conservatory and outside while we were away - 60.5°C was the indoors max and 1.5°C the outdoors min. A little less extreme today!
There's no way any min temp this week (or several weeks previous) was 1.5°c

I like the outdoors and walking too, but no fun in this heat plus we never take on enough fluid and end up feeling crap

good shorts, a ittle ruckie with a water resovoir.

89 now in our lounge, just seen it has been the hottest 5 days since 1976.

In 76 I was working at Dalston telephone exchange which had to have all the windows closed because of the then new electronic switch being installed.

We had a team in the summer football league on the astroturf at Hackney Wick next to the Matchbox toys factory. Pitch playing area was bigger than Wembley, kicked off after work at half four, so hot we took water breaks every fifteen minutes.
Weather broke bank holiday week, we had a caravan on the Isle of Sheppey and I was down there. Bit cooler on the coast, did sort of get used to the heat, but don't fancy a repeat thanks very much

Summer of 76 was and has been the only really hot one I actually liked, as we had only just moved from Melbourne to the UK so I was use to hot weather. 104 is the hottest I have ever been in, and that was in Melbourne and it was nice. As I have always said, the heat is different in Australia than in the UK.

A few years ago, I was in North Dakota, wandering across a prairie in 100+ oF
That felt comfortable to me, like everything else, the UK seems to get the rough end of the stick, including the weather / humidity :(

Hottest I've been was while in Bombay @ 105 degrees, but the worst part was the humidity. (n) :grumpy:

Summat ont' news yesterday about flight cancellations in Phoenix. Temp got up to around 110 degrees & pushing the operating limits of aircraft.

Yep saw that too, reason they said was, it`s too hot to fly.

Hottest temp I've ever been in is 119°f in Death Valley 2006.
Different kind of heat though. Practically 0% humidity.

Sadly it will Never happen now, but one of my biggest dreams was to get on a trike and go through Death Valley :)

we've just had air conditioning put in the bedroom, had to have the winter duvet on last night. Bliss.

I can highly recommend it as a destination, although the tail end of those hot hot days resulted in morning ground frosts.

hotter please.
had a lovely walk in the woods with the work and then a nice pint of
broadoak premium perry in the beer garden.

As indeed it is across Oz... The humidity of Darwin is so different to the lovely heat in Perth [emoji4]

Happy years out there [emoji4]

Dropping down to 22-24c for the rest of the week
After a very brief cloud burst, and I mean brief, its a full 5oC lower.
( 20 / 21oC currently the same as it was at 5am this morning)

That's something else I found strange, out there, ( in South Dakota) it could be 32oF or slightly below in the mornings, and I could comfortably walk around in a T-Shirt.
But it was well into the 80's by mid day...

As much as I have enjoyed the nice drop of sunshine in the past few days, I found the muggy nights bit of a struggle for sleeping in - hence why I'm glad it's gone all cooler and fresher now.

The week ahead does look like being on the changeable and showery side (chance of localised thundery stuff) but there'll also be some sunny breaks. Becoming warm in the first half of the week, then cooling off again later on in the week and into next weekend (1st July). May have to wait until the second week of July before it start to look and feel more summer-like again but that's a long way off in forecasting terms.

Loving the heatwave (although it have taken leave for now). We always go abroad in August so the British summer is always a good warm-up (pardon the pun) for that.

I wasn't always a fan of the heat but have grown to like it. We were in Malta/Gozo a couple of years ago and that made us realise that the best the we have to offer here is a weak offering. High 30's and early 40's with ridiculous humidity was the norm. The only way to cope with that was to try and keep hydrated and eventually your body seemed to get bored of sweating.

35o here today!!!

Oh well, pass me another cold beer. :p

Much cooler here today.
Didn't top 20°c.
Perfect.

Hissing down best part of the day here, and hardly went above mid teens ...
The joys of a British summer :D

I guess it is *if you* work in an office, but working ( mostly) outside on a 600 acre site, wasn't my idea of fun today :(

Not quite 19 degrees in the house, so I've actually put the heating on this eve.

Started spitting with mizzle as I finished my early morning round at 08:20 yesterday (cracking round as well as being quick - and hour!), drizzling when I left the clubhouse at 08:45, proper rain by the time I got home (09:10) and persissing down from 10:30 onwards. Made for a very bored cat and bitten/scratched hands!
