No
mine just rattle about loose in the bag, car, spare bedroom, kitchen, sometimes the green house

I think the plastic covers are to ensure there's no chance of the batteries shorting though so probably a good idea to be cautious and keep them in the wrappers. Sure I heard that somewhere

Likewise, mine just float loose, I do have covers for two of my 4 batteries and I reckon it's a good idea. I suppose a small plastic bag for each would serve as well.

You should seriously consider getting a bag or wallet type thing for the batteries. See eg http://www.tamrac.com/welcome.htm

Batteries will short if left loose in bags with other stuff. Then they get hot and catch on fire. There have been a couple of incidents in the states of camera bags catching fire on airplanes recently - not funny.

True.

Amateur Photographer gave away a pouch to hold memory cards a few months back. Well Canon battery's fit nicely.

Of my three batteries, one is in the body, one with the Canon 'cover' clipped on, and the other in the wee plastic bag.

This is probably going to be a question that I should already know the answer to, but here goes anyway....

I have just 3 batteries, the Canon battery that came with the camera, and 2 7DayShop batteries.

Now, apart from where to store them, how am I supposed to store them?
I mean, should I keep them fully charged or let them drain and only charge up when I think Im going to need them?

Is there a right or wrong way on this?

That's a good question InaGlo and I too would like to know the answer.

I also have 3 batteries, the canon one that came with it - That just seems to last forever. Now, I notice there is a battery symbol with a line through about 1 third of it - It never EVER seems to change (but then I constantly keep it charged up).

How do I know when my battery is close to dieing/running out?

Lastly - The link I gave above shows the other batteries I have. Used to be £99.99 (apparently) and now I can get the pair for £9.99 at 7dayshop.

Anyone used these batteries? Reliable?

Thanks all.

I've had a couple of sets of the 7-day shop batteries now - they're excellent. I usually have two in the grip and a single spare in the bag. Of course they last so long that I rarely need to charge up the ones in the grip but never mind!

maybe just put a bit of tape over the contacts as teh rattle around in your bag and then tear it off when you use it. also helps identify charged and ready batteries against empties...just a thought :)
