I bought a circular polarising filter the other day and was just wondering how people store them in there bags etc when not in use on the camera. I didn't know of they had to go in a case etc and whether they scratch easy or not. Thanks :)

I just keep mine in the case it came in Lewis.

Keep it in the container provided. In fact, keep all your filters in the containers provided when you're not using them. One scratch and a £100+ filter is totally buggered. You wouldn't want that, would you?

Thanks I have kept it in the original container just wasn't sure whether people kept then out or not. Cheers

Why would you do that? It would just get covered in dust and crap, and you'd have to clean it every time you used it. The little plastic box it came in is what you use... that's why it came in it :)

Defo keep it in the box it came with. They scratch easily.

Mine would cost £250 to replace

I find what you said rather odd. Don't you clean your filters before you use them? I do.

Would keep it in the case it came with for storage in you bag as others have said.
