Hi
I am about to print my first panoramic pgoto, but dont really know how to do this. My panoramic photograph is 11590x2500 pixels. The format I want to print on is Height=A4 , and proportional Length.
Now, should I send as large file as possible to printing company or should I reduce the size of it somehow? What will result in best print quality?
Thanks

Pawel

Speak to your printers.

Failing that, resize the file to the dimensions you want it printing and sharpen it.

You really need to know what machine you are printing from though, and therefore the ideal DPI.

If you don't want to do all that, just send the biggest file you can, some printers will charge an extra fee for file set-up, some will just send it to print as is.

A lot of the newer machines are pretty clever at sorting out the files on the fly so you probably won't have many / any problems.

My panoramic photograph is 11590x2500 pixels. You should also know what size print that image will produce by checking the details in the resize option on your software.

If your orginal image(s) are RAW, then you can set the DPI value when processing the raw image. If your image(s) are JPEGS, then most will default to 72 DPI (adobe).

Most print houses require you to resize you image to the correct size when printing, so you need to know what DPI they're printing at. Check out thread below with an explanation of DPI.

This helped a lot guy, thanks for that.
Looks like my photo, in 300dpi will print on 36''x8''.

On more question, is 300dpi ok for decent quality print?

Most poster sizes prints equal to or greater than A3 are printed at 257dpi (or there about's), it depends what your printer uses as a default for each print size.

Certainly speak to your printer.

We use 360ppi and resized to the print size.
