How to plan a shoot

Hi

As part of my photography course I've got to plan what my final image is going to be and go out take a few test shots to create that final image.
The thing with me I can plan it all in my head its getting it OUT of my head is what I have a problem with!
Is there any sites where you can use props and people to arrange how you want the final image to come out!
I need physical planning and I can't put my brain into my assignment and when I explain it to someone it sounds really rubbish and doesn't really sound the same to the image I want!

Have you got a scrap book where you can jot down your ideas?

I found this very helpful as all my ideas, research, print outs, contact sheets from shoots etc were all in one place. Easy way to keep things if you haven't got a computer at hand.
