No
think i'm looking at those signal sending things, but don't know anything about them.

also if there are any good ones, can it be controlled via a different room

thanks

mark, liking that link LOL

i was hoping someone on here had first hand experience of these wireless options

Do you want to watch different Sky chanels at the same time ?

no, just want to link living room sky to a bedroom tv wireless option

but is it possible to also control the living sky box from bedroom?

Yep - you just need to remember to take the sky remote upstairs with you.

We had one of the wireless transmitter things before getting multiroom and it worked fine. Sorry, I can't remember what make it was and have now passed it onto to someone else. The only annoying thing we had was having to prat about withswapping the scart lead over everytime as we didn't have enough sockets to have it plugged in all the time.

you need digital senders, one box connects to sky, the other to the receiving tv

It still however doesn't allow you to watch one programme in one room and another programme in the other room I'm afraid.

For that you will still need a second Sky box, which you could always pick up cheaply from ebay or some such place?

You need to be careful with these.
Unless they have changed the frequency, they tend to interfere with wireless networks.

You'd need a powermid or similar to get the remote to work if you're going wireless, the linked item above on play.com only works via coax cable.

Try this http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/9924044/Marmitek-Powermid-XL-Remote-Control-Extender/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0&&_$ja=tsid:11518%7Ccc:%7Cprd:9924044%7Ccat:Remote+Controls

Just to clarify - this is what we had.

You also need a new LNB to split the signal, again pretty cheap on Ebay, the whole job can be done for well under £20 for the box, cable and LNB

That's what I was going to say. We had problems with the phones too.

Yup, and some of the "eye" kits have a Sky remote in the pack. Ours feeds straight up the outside wall and from a socket (marked "Upstairs") to another marked "Downstairs" to avoid confusion with the aerial feed from the roof (for freeview, in case we want to watch different channels). Follow all the instructions that come with the kit and it's all dead easy as long as the cable run is easy. All the extras you need are the cable and sockets (if you go the neat way) as well as a fly lead from the sky box to the wall and the wall to the telly.

we started with a wireless sender- interfered with the net too much so sacked it and used a co-ax from the back of the box with a magic eye sender for the remote.

going for multiroom in the new year
