how to get this look

Wide angle lens, boost to saturation or viberance, and probably a midtone contrast/clarity tweek and a bit of blacks (in camera raw or lightroom) should get you close-ish. Theres a few different ways of doing it, it just may be a duplicate layer with a blend mode like overlay or something.
 
Sounds about right. High contrast with boosted saturation. 30 second job.

The distortion is horrid, and makes me dizzy looking at it though.

It doesn't make the young lady look good thats for sure.
