Hi all....am really stuck on how to 'edit' pics for web viewing...by this I mean let's say for instance I've just saved a pic ready to go on the net, and it's about 3000x3000 in size... without loosing it's sharpness, etc. how can I optimize???

I usually use inkfrog to host, and there's an option upon uploading the pics that I often choose where they'll automatically resize the uploaded pics to a certain size (i.e. 800x600) ...but they ALWAYS come out looking out of focus, but are very much INfocus (at their full size) - before I uploaded them....any ideas, HELP!!!! thanks!

And I've now revised the FAQs again to show the current size limits for pictures :)

Not sure who you are referring to here ...

I posted you a link to show you how to resize your shots for the forum and RobertP amended the linked post to show the new increased forum size limits.

Whats the problem?

This is what I do:
1. Process the photos that I like or want to post up (sharpening, cropping etc)
2. Export as a Jpeg with sRGB colour profile and maximum quality setting. I also resize the long edge to 800 pixels or just under locking the ratio so that the other edge is also reduced in proportion.
3. Upload the jpeg to imageshack or any other host.

Quality seems to be maintained this way, I use Lightroom.
