How to do a time lapse of a portrait over a period of time

I have seen videos on youtube showing a series of still portraits edited showing for example beard growth. how is this done.. I have an example below, is there a simple way of stacking the images to say "align the eyes"

Sorry that the only video I can find is a random fella growing a beard..

If you watch the video the eyes aren't aligned. I think if you use arms length and the same focal length that you won't be far out when creating the time lapse.

Only problem is I have already taken the photos.. they are of my daughter from birth to 18 months, I have quite a lot of portraits and was wanting to stack them into a time lapse.. might just end up having to place layers and resize in photoshop..

Google's Picasa has an automatic make video feature........

download and go to create > video having selected the folder

No features to customise it but it could give you a starting point for very little effort, and it does a fair effort at lining up eyes if I remmeber.
