How to copy cloning layer from BW image to Colour image

Hi all,

I'm slowly getting the hang of photoshop and I've done some cloning to an image that I also have in BW. The editing and conversions have been done in lightroom and Im just using photoshop for the cloning. I'd like to copy the same cloning (done in a layer) over to the other image but the cloned areas show up as dark patches.

Any ideas how I can get it to just copy the same sampled areas from the new image rather than to copy the sampled areas from the original image?

Why not copy and convert the image to b&w in lightroom?

I've tried but it attaches a different profile to the image and when I do my BW conversion on top, it looks ghastly
