Stupid heap of junk has died again. Only completely wiping the entire thing made it work at all. And the restore function doesn't work so everything that was on it has gone. I can see the backup file but there's no restore option, anywhere.

I hate this phone so much.

Ideas for a suitable death? I know it's a waste of something that could work now but frankly I don't care. I want to destroy it in an interesting way and video it so I can watch it again and again and have some satisfaction that I pulverised the miserable b****r.
 
Just bin it and get over it. Perhaps next time get a phone that's just, you know, a phone. I've never understood the need to have a phone that does everything. You want a camera, get a camera....you want music, get an MP3 player etc.
 
As it's from Scandinavia, you ought to give it a traditional Viking send-off - lay it to rest in a burning model boat, floating on a lake.
 
If you had a hi speed video cameras you could hit it with a hammer and see all the bits fly in slow motion
 
ebay and spend the money on a decent phone

I could. Knowing my luck I'd end up with some kind of injury from the flying pieces!
 
reminds me of the last nokia phone i got the n97, what a total piece of junk and the end of the road with nokia's for me
i was at the point of throwing it at a wall but gave in and sold it on ebay for 350-00 and got an iphone
 
Don't forget we'll need to see pictures, as the boat and phone sail off to their demise along the Caldon canal!
 
The battery may be useful to someone on the forum, so you could try to either sell it or give it away - probably a bad idea to blend or burn it anyway! I was going to suggest an angle grinder but a blender followed by an accelerant soak and a match is a much more interesting execution!

Battery is non removable so no use to anyone... Much like the rest of the phone :)

An old fashioned meat mincer appeals for the pulverising.
 
If you have access to farm equipment, put it through a power harrow. Quick, but fun. Spent a whole day doing it this year :lol:
 
Awww, I've got an N8, which I've had for two years. The £35 p/m contract ends next month and I've emailed Vodafone about not being interested in renewing it and just go back onto PAYG while keeping the mobile. Just that I can't hear on the phone (I'm deaf) and I do about 15 to 25 text messages a month - vodafone begged me to stay on with a £7 p/m contract for a year for the same kind of service while keeping the mobile.
I still think the N8 is serving me very well, had no freeze ups or glitches whatsoever, but the great thing is that it's army-strength rugged! I've dropped it on concrete a couple of times and there's not a single scratch on it.

It is the messaging system. More than so many just breaks it. Nokia backup only does c memory so messages on mass memory aren't backed up. Found that one out the hard way the last time I had to wipe it. Grr.
 
You can carry thermite mix in more or less anything - it takes a fair bit of heat to get it going (in a thermite granade it uses a piece of phosphorous as an igniter)

It may take a bit of doing but get the battery out before you do anything drastic! Not sure what happens when Li-Ion batteries get burned but it probably won't be good.

As Nod says, the Li-ion battery would be a bad thing to put in a microwave, you might well need a new microwave and kitchen units if you were foolish enough to stick it in a microwave.

I was thinking of using another microwave and having it outdoors :) I've seen that thing with Richard Hammond and the other nutters doing mad experiments.

I'd probably trip over the extension... :)

I have found how to remove the battery if need be. Just depends on whether I can easily find a viking long boat model :D This proper send off is still the preferred method of expiry after a quick trip in a mincing machine.

the battery IS removable. You just need a t5 screwdriver or if you're gonna smash it up, just prise the bottom end piece off.

And, as I once found out to my cost, even micro-waving an egg can have VERY unexpected consequences so God knows what it could do to a mobile phone :lol::lol:
