Yes
After the reports of credit card details being skimmed, then those reports surfacing again a few months later (IIRC), how safe is it to shop there now?

I want a battery charger and some rechargables from there (amongst a couple of other nick nacks) and want to check with you lovely lot first :)

I've bought a few things recently and I've had to go through the Visa verification process each time, so presumably that should have put an end to the problems....

7day no longer use their own onsite payments thingy. When you buy now you go through an external merchanting service, I buy from them every so often and haven't had a problem so far.

i get a halifax login thingy so I don't think they can be skimming details anymore as they don't get them, though am uncertain as to how the system works

- not had any issues recently ***

I've ordered a fair bit of film from them recently no problems.

Saying that the security section at my bank got in touch the other day after a trip to the US where my card had been declined. They told me they believed the details on my debit card had been compromised and wanted to cancel it and send me a new one.

So obviously someone I had paid somewhere had had my details hacked, where and who the bank wouldn't tell me

I am in no way implying 7dayshop. I would use them again...

Use quite a bit with no probs :)

I've never had a problem with 7 day shop in the past or recently. I even placed an order with them this week. Gives you more confidence if it uses the Visa verisign though.

No problems here either, been a regular customer over last four years without problem. I have to add extra details for my (Visa) card provider now which is reassuring. Always found prices to be keen and delivery times more than acceptable too.

weve bought from them lately too and had visa verification thingy.

No Probs here either ....we have always bought at 7day shop with no problems even during the "hack week" just all round good people to deal with:thumbs:

Thanks veyr much ladies and gent's.

My card used to be part of the verified by Visa, until the bank switched providers to Mastercard. Will double check if it's still part of the scheme (I think it is)

Mastercard have the same sort of thing.

I've ordered a few things recently without any problems.

I had my barlaycard details skimmed a couple of weeks ago, I don't know where but I had ordered from 7dayshop.com. fortunately they only got £30 and barclaycard have sorted it, I have had a credit card for over 30 years and this was the first time it has happened to me but not a nice feeling!

I had a mobile phone transaction for £50 a day or so after buying from 7dayshop.com last year. I hadn't bought anything else that month and fortunately I was refunded after signing a declaration that I hadn't made the transaction.

I still buy from them but keep a close eye on the bank statement.

I keep a separate card for online transactions rather than be without a card for the week or so it takes to issue another.

No problems at all, the verification thats in place now makes it more safe than :thumbs:ever

just got some batteries and a drive
pretty good, but not speedy on the delivery
but it's a budget service with the P&P included in the price.
so it arrived in time.

I just received two stands from them after ordering Thursday, no problems, very good service I would say.

I must say I'm still concerned with the fact it seems people might be still having rogue transactions after shopping with them, even after the card verification thing.

Mind you, the card verification is only in place for the 7dayshop buyer to prove they are who they say they are...It's thing to stop criminals shopping with 7dayshop, implemented by the bank.

7dayshop still get all the same details as before :)

Must agree with several of the posters in this thread. Have used them for years with no problems (thats b****erd it now)
But after reading about the problems some people had last year, just arranged a new C/Crd with a low spending limit to give myself a little reassurance. No problem since last September and I normally order things once or twice a month looking back on my order history on their site.

I must say that I have used 7dayshop for nearly 8 years now and I have never once had a problem using or having used the site.

I do some web development and e-commerce and can honestly say that stealing card details from the web is a *lot* harder than say POS terminals or cash points so it is extremely unlikely and rare. There are some rogue sites out there that are designed just to take your card data but 7dayshop are a legitimate and long standing business. Think about it - web traffic is all SSL encrypted but when you use a terminal or cash point there is *no* encryption at all !

This is a while back now but I found out that my card was done during the Shell petrol station scam - http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-183615802.html

Make sure you all run antivirus and anti-spyware on your PCs to keep safe guys as the current trend is to take your sensitive data right off your own PC.
