how often do you tell someone about TP?

its suprising how often people get talking to me when i'm out and about , or working with a camera.
"oooh, ive taken up photography as a hobby "etc etc.
if i can help with advice or whatever , then i do.
but i often end up writing down TP's webby on the back of a biz card.
probably a dozen times a month or so.
i wonder if any actualy look us up.

How did YOU find TP?
 
i googled photography forum when i bought my Camera, TP was first result and i never looked back! ;)
 
i just google searched before i bought my camera so i could see what others recommended and originally i never liked TP as the layout was a bit bland and i prefered using ephotozine but when the ephotozine forum was getting a bit quiet one evening i when onto TP and i never looked back since.
 
TP is like a pub where both bricklayers and barristers drink - the best kind of pub.
 
got a link to here from digital forums foto section, only been back there once or twice since i got here. This is great, I've told all me photo mates about it
 
I was recommended this site by colin the mod: "Hacker" after saying something on golfmagic, a forum for my other hobby and pasttime. Think I have recommended it to about 7 people so far, 4 of which have joined and a couple of regular contributors on here, ..........."23rd man" is the most prolific! :-)
 
Google for me too, when I bought my first digital SLR. During conversations with casual aquantances who share an interest, I have pointed them towards TP as a great way to learn and where there are some very friendly and knowledgable members. Its sure helped me no end and am grateful for that, its always feels good to pass this on to other potential members.
 
I posted a status on Facebook stating that I was interested in learning about photography. A friend of a friend then contacted me and suggested I contact Kipax who then recommended me to TP (thanks Kipax) :) and thanks also to all those who have provided support and advice since I joined :love:

(P.S. I have since referred people to this site ........ and hope they are enjoying the experience as much as me
 
i think i found TP by accident, researching some photography query or other.

i suppose i get approached more as i work professionally with the wifey, and people with an interest tend to ask questions.
TP is a handy place for people to look stuff up in more detail, and be able to refer back to.
 
I googled something like Photo forum help and that was few months ago. Splendid! As everyone else says, it's really a friendly forum, can't complain!

Web search here too - joined back in the days when there were only about 300+ members!
 
I was looking for shots taken with certain cameras and lenses so I could try and gauage what my first SLR was going to be like. The site only showed Canon ones but there was a link to here so it was here I stayed.
 
The salesman in the camera shop when I bought my dslr put me on to this site. He gave me loads of advice, but this was the best. That's what I call service!:)
 
Never heard of this place until someone mentioned the name on avforums....neve looked back!

I think I've mentioned this place to quite a few people, not sure how many those have signed up but I know a couple have! :)

Amen to both of those.

I reference this site a lot but I don't get to refer people here. First I have to explain why I'd spend £600 on a camera. Then I have to explain I share it on the internet and the whole thing makes for a very satisfying hobby. Then I have to explain what an internet forum is. :cuckoo:

I migrated here from another photography forum, and it seems there's also a few people from the bike forum I'm on here too.
 
A girl at work was in to photography and told me about a forum. Whilst looking for that forum I found this one. The other one was rubbish :D
 
I tell a colleugue a few times a week, but he hasn't signed up yet?

I mentioned the Forum to a Tog I met briefly out and about the other week, but not sure if she has actually joined?

I found out about this Forum as a recommendation by someone on Volkszone (another vice of mine is classic VW's).
